The Homeless Pastors Community Interest Company (CIC) is a training and social enterprise organisation dedicated to equipping people to serve those experiencing homelessness and others living on the margins of society.
Through the School of Homeless Pastors, we provide high-quality training that develops confident, compassionate leaders. Our programme combines classroom learning with practical outreach, giving students the knowledge, skills and confidence to respond to the practical, emotional and spiritual challenges surrounding homelessness.

We believe the best learning happens through experience. That’s why our students gain hands-on experience alongside local churches, charities and community organisations, enabling them to apply their learning in real-life settings.
Alongside our training, we develop social enterprises, including Angels Rest Café & Bookshop, with plans to expand into catering caravans serving festivals, conferences and community events. These enterprises provide sustainable income while creating opportunities for people to develop hospitality, customer service and employability skills, helping them grow in confidence and move towards greater independence.
Our vision is to see well-trained Homeless Pastors serving in towns and cities across the UK and beyond, while creating opportunities that equip people to serve their own churches, charities and communities.
The 2025–2026 academic year was the pilot year for the School of Homeless Pastors. Feedback from students, graduates and partner organisations has helped shape the programme, leading to improvements in course content, delivery, practical experience and graduate support. We are committed to reviewing and enhancing the programme each year to ensure it continues to meet the highest standards.
The School of Homeless Pastors exists to train and equip people; opportunities to volunteer or work with The Light Group are advertised separately and are subject to a separate application and recruitment process.
