As Homeless Pastors, we believe loving our neighbour as ourselves is the driving force behind everything we do. Working with the homeless can be incredibly rewarding, but it is not always easy. We are looking for like-minded people with a heart to serve others and a unique set of skills to carry out this important work.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BECOME A HOMELESS PASTOR?
COMMITMENT
Dedicated to following the teaching of Jesus, the church and serving the homeless.
RESILIENCE
Being an effective pastor requires healthy boundaries, good relationships and the ability to not give up on people.
COMPASSION
Having the ability to empathise with and be passionate about the poorest in society.
LISTENING
Having a good listening ear is key to understanding people's situations.
NETWORKING
Experience and building local relationships are key to solving entrenched rough sleeping, we are looking for confident communicators with the ability to network .
FAITH-FILLED
Faith and prayer is central to our work, and an essential part of tackling challenges and bringing light into a broken world.
